It’s Christmas Lovelies! WAHOO!! It's been a beautiful day with family, presents, and naps. I choose not to go anywhere on Christmas day... one of the best boundaries I set for myself as an adult. It's also Day 30 of my cycle, and my womb is subtly making Her presence known to me. So, I'm enjoying some alone time while I finish writing this post for y'all.
I had a BEAUTIFUL experience on Christmas Eve morning, and I couldn't wait to share it with you.
My Christmas Eve/Winter Solstice Vision
In addition to celebrating the traditional gift exchange and family traditions on Christmas day, I celebrate Yule aka Winter Solstice as my Holy Day. Of course, they are both reflections of each other: a celebration of the Birth of the Sun and the birth of the Son aka Christ. I love bringing all the symbolism together and appreciating the similarities between the pagan and Christian faiths through the stories told, especially around the winter holidays (which indeed are Holy Days). Perhaps I'll write another post on those similar threads soon.
With family coming to town on Yule this year, I couldn’t spend time in ritual like I usually do. But on Christmas Eve morning, I woke up early before the rest of the family and decided to take advantage of the dark, quiet house. I sat down in my living room and meditated under the light of my Yule tree. I’m subscribed to an amazing newsletter from Woman Rising Mystery School and they sent out a beautiful Winter Solstice meditation. Taking the opportunity to connect with the season and myself, I dove in with an open heart.
The meditation/visualization took place at Stonehenge on the night of the solstice. I had visited Stonehenge several years ago during my tour in England, so I easily found myself standing there among the moss-covered megalithic stones. In my mind’s eye, I witnessed several other women gathering to stand vigil during the longest night of the year. Holding space for all of us was the Sovereign Queen of Heaven, Mother Mary herself.
I was delighted to have Mother Mary included in my solstice ritual… although I grew up
protestant, I always felt a deep connection to her. I was fascinated by the way the Catholic church celebrated the Holy Mother. Even though I would have been
chastised if I said as much... because according to the adults in the church I grew up in, Catholics worshiping Mother Mary was idolatry and therefore, sending you straight to hell. Now that I am on my own path of Love and connection to the Divine, I choose to embrace Mother Mary as a treasured Goddess who shows us how to live with faith, compassion, dedication, and sovereignty.
Mother Mary visited each woman in the Stonehenge circle, giving us blessings and encouragement. Her presence was potent, and I could feel her comforting presence in my vision and my physical body. As I meditated and focused on her energy, I kept receiving images of me dancing, singing, and celebrating my body in joy and pleasure.
The meditation concluded, and I grabbed my pen and paper. After several years of meditation, I’ve realized that for me, many messages, words, images, and intuitive hits come just after a session. It feels like the meditation opens the door to my inner vision, but the process of vocal recording or physically writing on paper fully allows Spirit to flow through me.
As I began to write about my experience, I felt the nudging of a message coming through.
“Come back to Center,” Spirit was beckoning to me.
My hand came to my womb… I felt a stirring inside my uterus, like a wave of contraction. Knowing that I was on Day 29 of my cycle… I expected that my blood would come in the next couple of days. I felt compelled to write more, and a poem started to flow through me.
Here is the poem that flowed through me while meditating on the essence of the Winter Solstice and Mother Mary.
Mother of the Sun
We are ushering in a New Dawn.
A revival of old and re-membering of new.
It is time to place your crown on your head
As you birth the Sun
Through the Portal of your Womb.
Blood rushing as rivers
Bringing life to the soil
Your Truth radiating out
Inspiring others to sing out their own.
The Sun wakes up Life
Gives hope (home) to the weary
It is time.
It is Time.
It is TIME.
The Dawn of Life is here.
Lay down your fears
For Gaia always holds
Surrender your burdens
For Sun lightens always
Relinquish your need for control
For Moon ebbs and flows
Tides always return.
Moon returns to full.
Spring always comes.
Rest easy in that Love
For it is always so.
Go now Child, Sister, Love
Birth your Beautiful Sun
-- The Inner Expression of You
-- The Outer Expression of God
For you are the Mother of Your Life.
The Mother of the Sun.
As I am,
So are you.
Rejoice, for you have stood vigil
This Silent Night
And now usher in the morn.
It is time.
It is Time.
It is TIME.
The Dawn of Life is here.
Hark! The angels herald the Birth of Life
All reflections
Every birth cause for celebration
On Earth as it is in Heaven
Whether child
Or renewed life
Or purpose declared
Or proclaimed truth
All births of the Sun
All God
-- Expressed.
It is through your womb
You birth Yourself anew
It is time.
It is Time.
It is TIME.
The Dawn of Life is here.
Conclusion
I always feel so grateful after I write down messages like this… it feels like I just went swimming in the River of Spirit. The beautiful words lift my spirit, and at this time of rebirth with the Winter Solstice, the new year, and the start of a new menstrual cycle... there is a potency for me. I hope that wherever you are in your cycle (life or menstrual), you also hear the call to rebirth yourself, and bring LIfe to this planet once more.
I pray you have a blessed holiday, and that you remember how treasured you are to this world.
Much Love,
<3 Kori Rae
